Our Gold Award Five Star Food!

Home Cooked Food

Our menu was recently awarded the coveted Healthy Choice Gold award demonstrating our commitment to providing the very best food we can to the children in Horsham Day Nursery. Our nursery cook and nursery manager ensure that all food we serve is nutritious, healthy and purchased ethically. Our menus are additive free and use organic fair trade ingredients where possible or in season.

We know that our food choices in the nursery provide fuel for learning and we want to make sure all children in the nursery benefit from our healthy food policy and learn to understand and make choices about what they eat.

Healthy and Fun Family Meals

Mealtimes at Horsham day nursery are full of fun too. A really social environment where children are encouraged to develop independence by serving themselves, to chat with friends and staff about what they have done at nursery and home and to share and enjoy new experiences.

Children are supported to use cutlery and napkins for any little accidents! They pour their own drinks, serve their own food from serving dishes and learn to estimate numbers, size, volume.. theres a lot of maths in mealtimes! With great support from our staff team every experience can have a learning outcome!

  • Breakfast is served between 8AM and 9AM.
  • A Healthy Snack is provided mid morning
  • A cooked lunch is served at Midday.
  • Afternoon snack is provided mid afternoon
  • Tea is served at 4:30PM

Five Star Rating!

We were very pleased to be awarded a 5 star food hygiene rating in May 2017 for the second year in a row! We are very proud of the hard work put in by the staff team to achieve this!

We believe in working together

Our Parents Forum provides support and advice as a 'critical friend'

We encourage a culture of cooperation and continuous exchange between parent and nursery to ensure we can provide the very best care and education for your child. Successful cooperation between parents and the nursery has an exceptionally positive effect on your child's development.

We have a parents forum at Horsham Day Nursery who work with the nursery management and provide a vital and active link between parents thoughts and nursery actions.

The role is intended to bring suitable and representative parents into the heart of our Nursery and organisation. The Parent Forum members will be asked to act as “Critical but supportive friends” providing advice, opinion, ideas and other support as needed to help us develop the nursery into an outstanding setting.

Parent Forum members will assist with reviewing nursery policies and inspect the nursery regularly with the Senior Management Team. They will report to the other Parents via a newsletter and social media and assist us to keep Parents of children in the nursery fully appraised of developments, improvements and events.

The Parent Forum will also be represented at open days / evenings.

This will be a voluntary part time role for up to 3 people of approximately 10 to 15 hours per term and will be unpaid aside from general expenses incurred. Applicants will need to undergo a disclosure and barring check, a short suitability interview, follow a code of conduct including a confidentiality agreement to protect parents and children and will receive an induction, basic training in policies, processes and safeguarding.
